Welcome to ELMAG, the digital home for all your professional development needs. This portal provides access to a wide range of support and resources, including several new opportunities added very recently.
The ELMAG portal provides skills development for leaders, managers and those involved in governance from across the Further Education and training sector.
In the current climate of change, disruption and pressures, education and training providers are being challenged to work in different ways and to seek out opportunities to increase efficiencies, generate income, achieve major policy reforms, engage with employers and impact on communities. Not surprisingly, leaders look to find new solutions to these complex demands knowing that doing more and more of the same things will not bring about the impact that is required. Leaders know that they need to change how things are done, but too often confuse innovation with transformation and activity with progress. Then wonder why, despite best efforts the impact required is not achieved and things continue as before. Our Transformational Leadership Programme is a genuinely new approach to achieving success when incremental change is not enough. Find out about our suite of support for leaders.
Report from the Foundation: Developing a leadership Pipeline for BAME staff in Further Education and Training
A scoping report looking into the development of a leadership pipeline for Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) middle managers was carried out earlier this year. The report gives an overview of what some of the barriers are for BAME staff, then goes on to look at continuing professional development opportunities in the sector.
